Globes Flashback '04: Jack's 'Table of Losers'

By

Back in 2004, School of Rock star Jack Black was up for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical. Unfortunately, Jack lost to Bill Murray for his celebrated turn in Lost in Translation. We intercepted Jack and his then-girlfriend Laura Kightlinger at the New Line Cinema afterparty, where the deadpan funnyman shared his trademark humor about losing alongside Sir Ben Kingsley.

"I was sitting right next to Ben Kingsley, and I couldn't have been more stoked about that," said Jack. "I was hoping that he would win, because if he did I would hug him like he was my oldest friend. But he didn't. None of us did. Turned into the table of losers."
