Awards season has officially begun. Roll out the red carpet and put the champagne on ice. Nominations for this year's Academy Awards were announced bright and early Thursday morning, and ET had the fortune of chatting with the nominees, who were glowing with excitement at the Critics' Choice Awards.

Actresses Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway both received their second Oscars nomination on Thursday and both of them are seeking their first award. While the 22-year-old Hunger Games actress said the awards experience has been a bit nerve-wracking, Hathaway was gleaming with the exciting news.

"My mom and my dad called me within seven seconds of my name being announced," she recounted of receiving the Best Supporting Actress nomination for Les Miserables. "They're so happy for me, and I just love 'em so much. It's a really happy day for us all."

No actress was more thrilled to have received a nomination than Jessica Chastain, who is reveling in awards season once again after receiving Oscars and Golden Globes nominations for The Help last year.

"I feel so lucky; I'm enjoying every single second," the Zero Dark Thirty actress said. "I feel very fortunate to be an actor. I've wanted to be an actor since I was seven years old. To have movies in the movie theater is a great thing, but then all of this is like the icing on the cake. It's crazy."

As the now-prominent actors stood on the red carpet, it was a moment of nostalgia that dated back to their childhood dreams of becoming a movie star. The Impossible actress Naomi Watts said that an Oscar nomination was beyond those childhood dreams.

"Absolutely not. That's way too farfetched," she replied when prompted if she envisioned an Oscar nom as a child. "I dreamed of being an actor that was able to work, and having an agent and things like that, but I would never have taken the dream this far."

New to the awards circuit is Bradley Cooper, who revealed that he wasn't exactly playing it cool when it came time to watch the awards nominations broadcast early Thursday morning to discover if he had received his first Oscars nomination.

"I don't think I was...that cool," the Silver Linings Playbook actor said. "I thought I was going to get up late or sleep [through it] but no, I was up at like 4:30 and made my bed. I don't know what the hell I was doing, walking around the house waiting for 5:35."
