Grammys Flashback '02: Pink's Eccentric Get-Up

By

Pink has always had a very distinctive sense of fashion, especially in the early days of her career. At her first Grammys in 2002, her career of music (and fashion statements) was just beginning, and she certainly didn't disappoint with her eccentric get-up.

The then 22-year-old singer received her first Grammy that night for her "Lady Marmalade" collaboration with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, and Mya. The song and subsequent award put her on the map and helped booster her sophomore album Missundaztood.

At an after-party, Pink shows off her figure in a revealing white jumpsuit on the red carpet. To top off her look, the singer slicked back her pink-streaked, glitter-doused hair and gave her unique take on eye shadow by drawing a thick stripe across her eyes that extended along the bridge of her nose.

"I got my mom, my boyfriend, a beer; I'm good," she says to ET after posing for photos.

The chipper singer also jokes about not having her award present with her on the red carpet, as she would receive her personalized gramophone trophy later in the mail.

Physical award or not, Pink was on her way to becoming a music star. The black stripe across her face may have been more than a fashion statement; it may have been in anticipation of all the bright lights that would be beaming in her face for years to come.

She would go on to win another Grammy two years later for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for "Trouble," but has yet to win an award since; however, she is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album for her sixth studio album, The Truth About Love, at the upcoming 2013 Grammys.
