Ringo's Surprising Take on Lifetime Achievement
While many were scratching their heads at how long it took for The Beatles to be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Grammy, Ringo Starr was surprisingly zen about the timing of the award while chatting with Nancy O'Dell and Elvis Duran on the Grammy red carpet.
"It came when it came and that's good enough for me," said the 73-year-old drummer.
Starr accepted the award during a special ceremony on Saturday along with George Harrison's widow Olivia and Yoko Ono. Paul McCartney reportedly skipped the ceremony in order to rehearse for his Grammy performance.
O'Dell's chat with Starr was just one of the red carpet interviews that were shown live on TVGN Live with ET at the Grammys on Sunday, January 26 at 5:00 PM ET/PT.
The Grammys are honoring The Beatles again on February 9 with a two-hour special to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the band's legendary appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show.
