For Their Consideration? How Often Do The Stars Think About The Emmys?

The 2014 Critics' Choice Television Awards kicked off the start of the small screen awards season on Thursday, and the hottest stars in TV illuminated the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills as they congregated to support and celebrate each other's work.

But the thought on so many stars' minds had to be that shining gala event at the end of the road in August, the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards. If you're getting recognition from the Broadcast Television Journalists Association at the Critics' Choice Television Awards, it's likely that you could see an Emmy nom in your future.

So how do the stars handle that possibility? Well, for some, they don't worry about their personal nominations, but rather the acclaim their series gets.

"All I care about is the show," said Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting. "I want the show to get nominated. I'd love us to get our first win. It would be really exciting, but we're on a high right now. Nothing can bring us down."

While The Big Bang Theory has yet to win an Emmy for the show itself, it has taken home five Emmys and a Golden Globe in different categories, most involving awards ceremonies just throwing trophies at Big Bang star Jim Parsons.

However, Big Bang's creator Chuck Lorre attempts to just keep the Emmys, and the whole awards season race, out of his thoughts.

"I try not to think about that stuff," Lorre told ET. "We write scripts, and we try and make good shows. That's all we really have control over. So worry about that. If you worry about the other stuff, you can go crazy. So if it happens, that's great… if it doesn't, you've got to be grateful for being able to make a TV show every week."

Check out the video for more from the stars of the evening on how they deal with the looming Emmy nominations just around the corner.
