The "Modern Family' ladies certainly made interesting red carpet choices at the 2016 Emmys.

Modern Family
stars Ariel Winter and Sarah Hyland definitely made statements with their fashion choices at the 2016 Emmys on Sunday, both choosing bold looks for television's biggest night.

Winter, 18, flaunted her physique in a dazzling, sheer, floor-length Yousef Al-Jasmi gown, which featured cut-outs on the side and a thigh-high slit.

The outspoken actress has made headlines this past year thanks to her daring outfit choices, and has been vocal about promoting a positive body image among her fans. ET caught up with her Modern Family co-star, 17-year-old Nolan Gould, on the Emmys red carpet, who couldn't be prouder of Winter.

"Ariel has become kind of like a role model for this younger generation," Gould told ET's Nancy O'Dell. "I wish I could do something like that! I don't know what I could do, if I... just don't be like me, guys. Follow Ariel. She's doing great things."

Meanwhile, Gould and Winter's older sister on the hit ABC comedy, 25-year-old Hyland, also took a pretty big fashion risk on Sunday, rocking a strapless corset and black trouser combo by Monique Lhuillier. Hyland matched her embroidered cream top with a pair of ankle-strap Jimmy Choo heels in the same color.

"Pants on the Emmy red carpet, I've never done it before," Hyland told ET about her sure-to-be controversial look. "I feel liberated!"

ET chatted with Winter last month, when she remained unapologetic about her Instagram posts.

"It's like, 'Let me live! I'm enjoying my life, you're enjoying your life, you should be posting your butt if you like it, too!'" she told ET exclusively. "I'm not going to fight with someone on my Instagram that tells me they don't like my outfit or I should put my butt away. I'm sorry you think I should put my butt away, but just unfollow me."

She also named her co-star, 44-year-old Sofia Vergara, as one of her biggest inspirations.

"I really had the greatest opportunity to have some wonderful role models, especially Sofia Vergara," Winter shared. "Working with a curvy beautiful woman that everybody looked up to and loved the way she looked… that was my inspiration to move forward and accept myself because that's what matters."
