Bright and early this morning, Jimmy Kimmel was on hand to co-host the Emmy nominations announcement ceremony, putting a casual spin to TV's biggest event.
The late-night host accepted the call to fill in for Nick Offerman at the last-minute, but it didn't look like he had enough time to properly dress for the occasion.
"This is a sex dream, isn't it?" joked Kimmel, clad in old-fashioned pajamas. The comedian, who will host the Emmys, also celebrated his show's nomination in the category for Outstanding Variety Series.
While Kimmel's jammies marked a first for the nominations announcements, Julia Louis-Dreyfus made history of a different kind.
"I can't believe it," said Julia, who tied Lucille Ball for the most nominated comedic actress in Emmy history.
Along with her Emmy buzz, Julia Louis-Dreyfus caused a lot of chatter across social media sites for her Veep nomination. According to AddThis.com, the show enjoyed a 100 percent spike in social mentions.
While Mad Men received a surprisingly low number of social media mentions, according to AddThis, the show snagged the highest number of nominations, tying American Horror Story with 17.
The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards airs Sunday, September 23 on ABC.
