Andy Samberg hosted the 2015 Emmy Awards on Sunday, in what turned out to be a historic year for the awards show.

Viola Davis became the first black woman to win Outstanding Lead Actress for her role in How to Get Away with Murder, Jon Hamm grabbed his first lead actor Emmy for Mad Men's final season after seven previous nominationsafter its final season, and Game of Thrones cleaned up on the night with 12 wins in total, taking home the most awards for a series ever in a single year.
