Stars React To Their Emmy Nominations!
The nominations for the 61st Annual Emmy Awards nominations were announced Thursday morning and now the lucky actors and actresses are reacting to their big honor.
"I'm thrilled and honored to be nominated again this year," Vanessa Williams, who plays Wilhelmina on the comedy "Ugly Betty," says about her Best Supporting Actress nod. "I love my show and my character, Wilhelmina, and this recognition is truly icing on the cake."
Alec Baldwin -- nominated for Best Actor in a comedy for "30 Rock" -- tells ET, "I'm thrilled for everyone connected to the show, but I'm especially excited for Jane, Jack and Tracy. It's great working with the entire group and I'm grateful for the recognition of our work."
Outstanding Supporting Actor nom Tracy Morgan says, "It is an honor to be recognized by my peers and be a part of '30 Rock's' 22 nominations. I thank everyone from Tina to Lorne to everyone in craft services."
Fellow cast mate Jane Krakowski said of her "30 Rock" Supporting Actress nom, "The writers have created an amazing character in Jenna which I just love to play. I'm so honored to be part of this ensemble, this is my first Emmy nomination, I'm so excited! I am blown away by the number of nominations the show has received and thrilled for everyone."
Their co-star Jack McBrayer, nominated for Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, says, "I am thrilled to be riding some very nice coattails right now. We are all floored that the show is getting so much recognition. I blame Tina Fey."
Series guest star Alan Alda picked up a nom for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series and tells ET, "Here I am associated again with one of the best best shows ever on television. I couldn't be luckier -- or happier."
Mariska Hargitay of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" tells ET of her Emmy nomination for Best Actress in a drama, "I'm hugely grateful to be nominated, and ridiculously proud to stand in the company of these incredible artists."
Sally Field, who is competing with Mariksa in the Lead Actress category, says, "As 'Brothers & Sisters' enters it's fourth season, it still is and always will be a great honor to be nominated. The only hard part is finding a dress ... and a date."
Meanwhile, "Weeds" star Mary-Louise Parker says she's ecstatic about her nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy series, saying, "I am thrilled to be nominated amongst this talented group of actors and especially happy for my friend Christina that she is being recognized for her great work. I feel proud to be a part of this show and to work with an incredible group of creative minds who take chances and are being acknowledged for this today."
After hearing she was nominated Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Toni Collette's tells ET, "I am thrilled and honored to represent 'United States of Tara' in this way! I really hope this helps to widen the audience for our show!"
"My Life on the D-List" star Kathy Griffin tells ET this about her show receiving a nom for Outstanding Reality Program: "I know this industry isn't supposed to be about awards, but screw you and the horse you rode in on... Seriously, I am truly honored that the Academy has recognized my special and 'My Life on the D-list,' specifically the episode where I was privileged enough to visit and perform at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Shout out to my one-legged GI's."
And Kenneth Branagh, who is nominated for "Wallander," comments, "I'm honored to be nominated amongst such a group of actors and so proud for everyone involved with this first series of 'Wallander.' It was a huge team effort to produce ambitious television -- existential angst and mystery in rural Sweden is not an easy pitch -- but the public around the world has responded wonderfully, and I'm thrilled by the Academy's recognition."
