Donald Glover
was beside himself when his critically-acclaimed comedy, Atlanta, took home the top comedy prize at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

“This is incredible! We were not -- wow!” Glover said when he went onstage to accept the Golden Globe for Best Comedy Series, thanking the “beautiful, amazing” cast, his brother and the writing and producing team.

“I really want to thank Atlanta, and black folks in Atlanta, for real -- just for being alive and doing just amazing and being amazing people,” the 33-year-old new father said.

The Community alum also took a moment to personally thank The Migos, a hip-hop group from small town Georgia, who made a cameo on the FX show.

“I couldn’t be here without Atlanta and I really want to thank The Migos, not for being in the show but for making ‘Bad and Boujee,’” Glover said to a few chuckles in the star-studded audience (the track was featured in an Atlanta trailer). “That’s the best song ever, so yeah.”

“Thanks to everyone. Thanks for this, we really appreciate it. We didn’t think anybody was going to like this show so we appreciate it!” he capped off his adorable acceptance speech.

Atlanta follows Earn (Glover), a Princeton dropout-turned-music manager in Atlanta, who tries to get his cousin, who raps under the stage name Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), to stardom. Glover is also the creator and an executive producer on the half-hour show.

Following Atlanta’s Golden Globes win, Octavia Spencer, Thandie Newton, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend and Sterling K. Brown (a self-proclaimed fan) were among the celebrities who celebrated the win, giving Glover and company the biggest ovation of the night so far.
