During Christina Aguilera's first performance since mixing up the lyrics to the United States' National Anthem at the Super Bowl, the singer had a few miscues during her tribute to Aretha Franklin at the Grammy Awards seen by viewers and tweeters all over the country.

"Christina Aguilera - making recognizable songs unrecognizable since 1999!" joked @shutupbuck, suggesting that the songstress was unintelligible while singing "Natural Woman."

"So Christina Aguilera fails the National Anthem at Super Bowl, and falls at the Grammy Awards? Wow," tweeted @TheToneh, referencing the singer's stumble during the audience applause at the end of her performance.

Aguilera did have some celebrity friends come to her aid. Before the show, Martina McBride stood up for Aguilera's Super Bowl performance saying, "Nobody understands how difficult that really is. I've done that anthem so many times at so many games. You're just nervous and you're thinking about everything. It's just something that happens. I just think everybody kind of needs to give her a break."

McBride also paid tribute to Aretha Franklin as did Jennifer Hudson, who called it an honor to be a part of the performance featuring Aguilera and McBride.
