Ed Sheeran Is Performing at the GRAMMYs

Surprise! Ed Sheeran is taking the GRAMMY stage.

The 25-year-old singer will be performing at the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards, Sheeran announced hours before Sunday’s live telecast.

“Playing the Grammys tonight on cbs, tune in !” the Brit wrote on Instagram, alongside a selfie during GRAMMY rehearsals.

The Recording Academy reposted Sheeran’s photo on Instagram with the caption, “CONFIRMED.”

Sheeran is also nominated as a songwriter for Justin Bieber’s No. 1 hit, “Love Yourself,” in the Song of the Year category.

It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours for Sheeran, who, hours earlier, performed as Saturday Night Live’s musical guest in New York City. During his latest appearance, he sang new singles, “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill,” from his upcoming album, Divide.

Late Saturday night, Sheeran hinted at a GRAMMY appearance following his SNL appearance, posting a photo with host Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan with the caption, “Thanks for having me SNL, off to LA now.”

hits stores March 3. The GRAMMYs air live coast-to-coast at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
