Oscar Nominees Honor Susan Sarandon at AARP Gala

This year’s Academy Award nominees and numerous Hollywood heavy hitters stepped out Monday night to recognize actress Susan Sarandon at AARP’s 13th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards.  ET was at the star-studded gala to chat with some Oscar hopefuls and the guest of honor herself. Watch the video to see what Susan’s telling ET about some of her proudest moments during her career.

The always witty comedian Kathy Griffin, who recently won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album, hosted AARP’s gala in Los Angeles which spotlights films and performances that have made an impact on audiences over 50.  Sarandon was presented with AARP’s 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award, and plenty of other stars, directors, and writers were recognized for their work.

Proceeds from the event went to the AARP Foundation which helps raise awareness about serious issues concerning older Americans, such as hunger.  This year’s awards highlighted AARP’s partnership with the L.A. Kitchen as one of the many ways it works to help those in need.

The 86th Annual Academy Awards air March 2 on ABC.
