Ryan Gosling is taking a serious fashion chance.
The 36-year-old actor ditched the traditional suit-and-tie look at the 2017 Oscars on Sunday, opting to sport colored ruffles instead. Still, he was handsome as ever in the hard-to-pull off style, looking dapper on the red carpet.
Gosling is nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance in La La Land. His longtime love, Eva Mendes, wasn't present on Sunday, presumably watching at home with their two children, 2-year-old Esmeralda and 10-month-old Amada.
The Canadian actor did thank Mendes in his heartfelt acceptance speech at the Golden Globes last month, calling her his "sweetheart."
"There is no time to thank everyone, but I just want to try and thank one person properly and say that while I was singing and dancing and playing piano and one of the best experiences I've ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer," Gosling said, clearly getting emotional. "If she hadn't taken all of that on so that I could have this experience, it surely would be somebody else up here today. So sweetheart, thank you."
