Toni Braxton couldn’t be happier -- even if her music doesn’t always show it.

Only ET has an exclusive sneak peek at this week’s episode of Braxton Family Values, in which the GRAMMY winner films her music video for her heartbreaking new song, “Deadwood.”

“The song ‘Deadwood’ is about someone discarding you, dismissing you, making you feel like deadwood,” Toni, 50, explains in the clip, as she channels “old-school Toni Braxton” for the music video. “It’s a sad love song that shows that you’ll get past it.”

“This song is a little different than the genre of songs that I’ve done in the past, but I think it’s important as an artist to try different things. But I didn’t go too far left,” she adds.

With a fiance, a music career and a sweet 16 to plan, Toni’s got a lot on her plate, but knows her family will help her get through it. Find out what’s making Toni “pretty happy these days” in the video player above.

Braxton Family Values airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on WE tv.

ET caught up with Toni at The Forgiven premiere last month, where she gushed about her engagement to Birdman and revealed her wedding must-haves. Watch below.
