Personal style mavens JESSICA ALBA, JENNIFER LOPEZ, SCARLETT JOHANSSON and a slew of Hollywood's most glamorous stars turned out last night for the annual Costume Institute Benefit Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Our own STEVEN COJOCARU revisited the best and worst fashions of the night -- don't miss tonight's ET for his ravishing recap!
La Lopez went asymmetric in a pink silk chiffon gown by DONATELLA VERSACE, which Cojo loved! "This is a goddess dress!" The one thing he thought may have been missing from J.Lo's look? "I want to give her big glamorous hair!"
The theme for this year's event, called AngloMania, celebrates 30 years of creativity and experimentation in British fashion, and features an unprecedented selection of works by British designers.
The ever-fashionable SARAH JESSICA PARKER was with British designer ALEXANDER McQUEEN. But the normally-smitten-with-Sarah Cojo wasn't feeling this look. "She's my favorite fashionista and person on the planet ... but you've got conjoining dresses here, you've got AUDREY HEPBURN and on the other side you've got EWAN McGREGOR!"
A purple-clad CHARLIZE THERON was escorted by JOHN GALLIANO -- another frock Cojo wasn't overly impressed by. "She's my GRACE KELLY ... but this time, there's something missing. I think she'd feel at home with a huge gigantic bow on the shoulder," Cojo joked. "Better luck next time."
Jessica Alba dazzled in a pale blue strapless gown by CALVIN KLEIN, while Scarlett sported a short brunette hairstyle as she arrived alongside designer STELLA McCARTNEY.
Other A-listers who glammed it up Monday night in New York included LINDSAY LOHAN, NAOMI CAMPBELL, GISELE BÜNDCHEN and EVA MENDES, who wore a DOLCE & GABBANA Fall 2006 runway gown inspired by the Napoleonic era.
Cartier jewelry adorned DREW BARRYMORE, who wore a platinum and diamond cocktail ring, KIM BASINGER, with a vintage diamond watch, and LIV TYLER, who wore a sapphire and diamond double-headed panther cuff.
These fabulously chic ladies weren't the only ones who showed off their sense of style last night, as swanky gents JOSH LUCAS and JOSH HARTNETT looked suave in black D&G.
Donatella Versace hosted a table as well as dressed several celebrity attendees. MARC ANTHONY wore a velvet two-button tuxedo, RUPERT EVERETT donned a deep blue two-button tux, and LENNY KRAVITZ chose a black two-button slim-fit jacket with pocket detail.
To help celebrate the opening of the exhibition, actress SIENNA MILLER, Vogue editor-in-chief ANNA WINTOUR and CHRISTOPHER BAILEY, creative director of Burberry, served as this year's co-chairs.
Through the lens of fashion, AngloMania, which runs from May 3 to September 4, examines aspects of English culture -- ideals, stereotypes, sport, royalty and eccentricity -- by juxtaposing historical costumes with late 20th and early 21st century fashions.
Watch tonight's ET for Cojo's style highlights from the event!
