We’re not crying, you’re crying!

Chris Evans honored his dog, Dodger, with an adorable video on Wednesday. The Captain America star took to Twitter, sharing a clip of the moment he met his rescue dog in honor of National Pet Day.

This is the moment we met. He was trying so hard to stay seated even though he desperately wanted to get out,” Evans wrote. “I knew right away that he was coming home with me, so I took this video to always remember our first hello. Rescue dogs are the best dogs!! #NationalPetDay.”

In the clip, the precious pup could hardly contain his excitement, wagging his tail and licking the cage to get closer to Evans’ hand. Thankfully, the 36-year-old actor brought his buddy home and now they’re the best of pals.

The Avengers star often talks on social media about how much he misses his dog while on set shooting his blockbuster films.

“Really missing this guy right now,” he wrote in July 2017, captioning a pic of Dodger sleeping in his arms.

Evans also posted a sweet shot of Dodger placing his paw on Evans’ arm, writing, “’Excuse me, are u busy? Could I interest u in chasing squirrels with me outside? Or perhaps u could toss the Frisbee? I have no plans today.’”

In September 2017, Evans was reunited with his beloved companion after “10 long weeks,” and shared the adorable video of Dodger pinning him to the ground and climbing all over him.
