Letterman: Leno Is 'Most Insecure Person' I Know

Late Show host David Letterman didn't hold back when chatting with Oprah Winfrey about his late-night feud with Tonight Show host Jay Leno.

In the latest promo for Letterman's interview on Oprah's Next Chapter, the 65-year-old TV icon starts out paying compliments to Leno, 62, telling Winfrey, "He's an unusual fellow. I've never met anyone quite like Jay. And I will say, and I'm happy to say, that I think he is the funniest guy I've ever known. Just flat out, if you go to see him do his nightclub act, just the funniest, the smartest, a wonderful observationist and very appealing as a comic."

However, Letterman goes on to add, "Therefore, the fact that he is also maybe the most insecure person I have ever known -- I could never reconcile that."

This confession comes years after Leno, Letterman and Oprah filmed a 2010 Super Bowl spot where they were all seen watching TV on a couch together and making light of the late-night rivalry.

Watch Oprah's full interview with Letterman on Sunday, January 6, at 9/8c on OWN.
