New audio evidence has emerged of the men charged with planning to murder and castrate Justin Bieber at his his sold-out show in New York City's Madison Square Garden this past November. Phone calls between the men reveal further details into the foiled murder plot and their strategy.
Convicted criminal Dana Martin, his former inmate Mark Staake and Staake's nephew Tanner Ruane reportedly planned on strangling both Bieber, 18, and his bodyguard and, per their phone conversations, had planned to purchase "hedge clippers," thought to be used to castrate the singer. "Did he go over the Bieber thing with you?" Martin asks Ruane in a taped conversation obtained by KOAT 7. Martin is speaking from inside the Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility where he is serving two life sentences for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl in Vermont back in 2000.
Ruane answers, "Nah. The way I like to work dude, I like to know as little as possible. He's gonna use one of the things you gave him, and then he's gonna take care of it."
The call continues with Martin instructing, "[Mark's] going to strangle the pit bulls and you're going to castrate them. ...Tie it really, really tight. Knot it in the front once, really tight, put it in a knot. That cuts off the oxygen. And then tie it in the back again, really tight. That seals the deal."
Ruane also brings up the price of $5,000 for each one he gets, leading authorities to believe he's referring to murders.
Back in December, the New York Post reported that Martin was obsessed with Bieber, and had a tattoo of the heartthrob on his leg. The murder plot was never even attempted as Staake and Ruane were stopped by border patrol in Canada.
