"If you want the ultimate, you gotta be willing to pay the ultimate price." The 1991 cult classic Point Break, starring Keanu Reeves and the late Patrick Swayze, has landed a director for a remake of the highly quotable film -- but there is a new twist this time around.
Ericson Core, best known for his films Fast and Furious and most recently Invincible, has been confirmed to direct the project, Deadline reports.
The original film was helmed by Oscar winner and Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow and follows an FBI agent who goes undercover to catch a gang of bank robbers, the Ex-Presidents, who may be surfers. This plotline leads to one of the more memorable lines in the movie by Johnny Utah (Reeves), who announces, "Bodhi, this is your f***ing wake-up call man. I am an F. B. I. agent!"
While Utah learned how to surf on the FBI's dime, the remake will focus on the arena of international extreme sports.
