Sean "Diddy" Combs caused quite the buzz when he shared on Twitter that he would be joining the cast of Downton Abbey, with even PBS commenting on the reported casting news. Turns out the hip-hop mogul was telling the truth ...sorta.
In a new Funny Or Die sketch, Diddy does show up on the show he refers to as "Downtown Abbey." This spoof comes after the announcement that the series will be introducing its first black character next season.
Diddy says of his faux role in the critically acclaimed series, "Hello everyone, this is Sean Combs coming to you from my office with some very, very exciting news about my favorite show of all time - Downton Abbey. Yes, I am an Abbey-head proudly, yes yes yes!"
The rapper's tweets were so convincing that PBS even put out a statement that Diddy would not be joining the Downton cast. "Sorry to disappoint, it's simply not true," ETonline confirmed with the station.
