'90s Movie 'Outbreak' Becomes TV Show

NBC is having a '90s revival. Following news that the cult classic Reality Bites will become a TV show, the 1995 blockbuster Outbreak is also being revived for the small screen.

The one-hour drama will be based on the film that starred Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman and Rene Russo, and centered around the extreme measures taken to contain an epidemic of a deadly airborne virus. Oh, and there's a monkey.

Deadline reports that ER executive producers John Wells and Jack Orman are heading up the medical thriller.
