Ryan Gosling doesn't show his "photoshopped abs" in just any old movie! The Crazy, Stupid, Love. star reportedly turned down the highly coveted role of Christian Grey in the erotic book-turned-movie Fifty Shades Of Grey, that eventually went to Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Hunnam was not author EL James' first choice to play the wealthy 27-year-old S&M enthusiast. Gosling, 32, was approached for the role but wasn't interested and On The Road's Garrett Hedlund was also heavily courted but he felt he "couldn't connect with the character."
As for the virginal Anastasia Steele, THR claims Alicia Vikander (Anna Karenina), Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later) and Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May, Marlene) were considered but director Sam Taylor-Johnson had her eye on Dakota Johnson for the lead role.
