Beyonce refers to her little girl Blue Ivy as "my road dog, my homey, my best friend," telling Marie Claire Australia magazine that she felt a connection to her daughter before she was even born.
"I felt very maternal around eight months," the 32-year-old diva recalls. "And I thought I couldn't become any more until I saw the baby. ...But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn't think about my own pain."
Adding of her labor, "We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication."
While Mrs. Carter admits her maternal instincts came naturally, she confesses that the spotlight is still not something she's used to. "I'm still completely nervous," she tells the magazine of her A-list fame. "I still feel pressure."
