John Oliver broke down on his last night on The Daily Show when host Jon Stewart surprised him with a special tribute.
Thinking that he would be doing a bit as the Comedy Central show's "royal correspondent," Stewart revealed that the only "British royal" he wanted to recognize was "Prince John Oliver."
After showing several clips of the comedian's work during his seven and a half years on Daily Show, cameras cut back to Oliver in the studio as he began to tear up when Stewart and the audience honored him with a standing ovation.
Oliver, who stood in as host of The Daily Show this summer while Stewart was shooting a movie, has landed his own HBO show that will begin airing on Sunday nights some time in 2014.
Jon, 51, and John, 36, quickly changed the somber mood by dancing to rapper Mystikal's hit Danger.
