Comedy Central prankster Nathan Fielder, host of the show Nathan For You, is the founder of the establishment. Nathan held a press conference on Monday, Feb. 10, to explain his "American dream," and also released a YouTube video introducing Dumb Starbucks.

"By adding the word 'dumb,' we are legally allowed to use the coveted Starbucks name and logo because we've fulfilled the minimum requirements to be considered a parody under U.S. law," Nathan explains in the video. "Many of you probably know me as a comedian, but this is not bit or joke. This is a real business I plan to get rich from, but I need your support."

During his press conference outside his flagship shop, the funnyman announced that he also plans to open a Dumb Starbucks in Brooklyn. That all being said, just moments before the press conference, the coffee shop revealed that the Los Angeles Department of Health Services had shown up, and they would not be serving coffee ...for now.
