WATCH: Billy Ray Makes Twerkin' 'Achy Breaky 2'

February 12, 2014

Over two decades after the Achy Breaky Heart phenomena of 1992, 52-year-old Billy Ray Cyrus has teamed up with Buck 22 for a hip-hop sequel.

Taking after his daughter Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray's Achy Breaky 2 video features twerking women! "Miley keeps twerkin', her daddy's song is workin', now Billy sing that crazy hook again," Buck 22 raps.

So, how did this collaboration come together? "I asked [Billy Ray Cyrus] if he would mind if I could take a crack at remaking Achy Breaky Heart and he looked at me for a moment, and said, 'Lots of people have tried already, but go for it,'" the rapper, son of jazz drummer Bill Elliott and R&B singer Dionne Warwick, told Rolling Stone. "He didn't have a clue that I had already gone into the lab and cooked up a demo of what I thought would be a fun EDM/hip-hop styled version, which at the time only had a sample from the original of his voice. He liked what he heard and, weeks later, arrived at the session to record this track."

The video opens with Larry King giving a breaking news alert that aliens have invaded Earth. Billy Ray and his little, line-dancing buddy are abducted by a group of sexy, scantily-clad extraterrestrials, and that's when the dance party happens in space.
