Good Morning America's Josh Elliott is switching networks.

Following behind meteorologist Sam Champion's departure from the No. 1 morning show, Elliott, 42, will also be leaving GMA to take a job at NBC Sports, Variety reports. Amy Robach will replace the anchor, a memo from ABC News President Ben Sherwood to staffers confirmed.

"As many of you know, we have been negotiating with Josh these past several months," Sherwood said in his staff message (via Variety). "In good faith, we worked hard to close a significant gap between our generous offer and his expectations. In the end, Josh felt he deserved a different deal and so he chose a new path."

News anchor Lara Spencer and lead co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos will remain on the show.

What do you think of Elliott leaving GMA? Will the show suffer?
