'The Simpsons' Pay Tribute To 'Letterman'

April 08, 2014

Could Homer Simpson be the next Late Show host? The Simpsons paid tribute to David Letterman, following news that he's leaving the Late Show, by sharing a bit they call "Letterman Couch Gag."

In the scene, Homer Simpson jumps out of a car and head-butts his way onto the CBS show's stage along with his family. Upon seeing their couch on set, the family plops right down.

Though the animated Letterman seems less enthused by the family, the animated band leader Paul Shaffer is on board.

Following the quick clip, a slate pops up that reads: "We'll miss you, Dave."
