The teaser/trailer for Zach Braff's Kickstarter film Wish I Was Here has been released, and while it runs like a music video (it includes about two lines of dialogue), this first look at the dramedy plays a lot like Braff's 2004 hit Garden State.
Just as Garden State is credited with putting The Shins' song New Slang on the map, the teaser is set to the track Simple Song, also by The Shins.
Starring Braff, Kate Hudson, Joey King, Ashley Green, Jim Parsons, Mandy Patinkin and Josh Gad, Wish I Was Here, which debuted at this year's Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, is "the story of Aidan Bloom (Braff), a struggling actor, father and husband, who at 35 is still trying to find his identity; a purpose for his life. He winds up trying to home school his two children when his father (Patinkin) can no longer afford to pay for private education."
Braff co-wrote the film with his brother Adam and both stars in and directs it.
Wish I Was Here hits theaters in July 2014. Do you think this movie will be this year's Garden State?
