This is your chance to travel to the universe far, far away! Star Wars: Episode VII director J.J. Abrams announced in a video on Tuesday that he's casting a fan in the highly anticipated movie.
While on location in Abu Dhabi, Abrams revealed that Star Wars: Force For Change is a new initiative "dedicated to finding solutions to some of the world's biggest problems."
The first campaign will help raise funds and awareness for the United Nations Children's Fund's (UNICEF) Innovation Labs. This is where you come in. Those who contribute at least $10 to the cause on Omaze.com/StarWars will be entered to win a trip to the set of the film, and depending on the level of contribution, participants can even receive a Star Wars-themed item.
The grand prize includes airfare and accommodations to London for one winner and a guest, and behind-the-scenes access on the closed set of Star Wars: Episode VII as Abrams' VIP guests. The winner will also get to meet and greet members of the cast before being transformed by the film's makeup and costume teams into a Star Wars character.
Disney, who recently bought Lucasfilm which owns the Star Wars franchise, has already committed to donating $1 million to Star Wars: Force For Change.
"We would like to invite you to be part of the fun here. We want to put you in the movie in Star Wars," Abrams said in the video.
He added in his statement, "The Star Wars fans are some of the most passionate and committed folks around the globe. We're thrilled to offer a chance to come behind the scenes as our VIP guests and be in Star Wars: Episode VII. We're even more excited that by participating in this campaign, Star Wars fans will be helping children around the world through our collaboration with UNICEF Innovation Labs and projects."
The Star Wars: Force For Change campaign runs from May 21 until July 18. Click HERE for full details.
