Add Lady Gaga to the list of pop stars postponing shows this year. Mother Monster has canceled both her Seattle and Vancouver performances, but she has her reasons.
The 28-year-old pop star tweeted on Wednesday night, May 28, that she had lost her voice. She wrote:
I'm devastated I'm unable to perform this week. Ursula took my mermaid voice I've come down with horrible Bronchitis. pic.twitter.com/lE8xEaouH7— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) May 28, 2014
My deepest apologies to Seattle and Vancouver, we'll reschedule those shows & be back to make it up to you. I 💗 monsters. #sadgaga— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) May 28, 2014
However, some news outlets suspect these cancellations are due to low ticket sales. "One Direction is still in the top 10 for concerts on StubHub but Lady Gaga is not, and that's a little bit surprising this year. Even though she's touring and generally doing a lot of concerts she's not in our top 10 this year," Chris Tsakalakis said in a Squawk Box interview on CNBC.
StubHub showed 300 tickets still available for the singer's Wednesday night concert in Seattle, as of Wednesday morning. The prices were as low as $41.65. Gaga's next three shows had at least 400 tickets left for each concert, with starting prices as low as $38.30, NBC News reports.
Do you believe Gaga's reason for postponing her Vancouver and Seattle shows?
