Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise might be the best dressed mother-daughter duo in Hollywood, and Katie says Suri is a big reason why they're always stepping out in style.

"The other day we came out of a store, and she said, 'I want to go there,' pointing at another store quite a distance away. In that store was the dress that she wanted," Katie recalls a story to Elle magazine. "I said, 'Wow, Suri. You’re something. You picked that out from a football field away.'"

As mentioned in other interviews, Katie says her little girl still critiques her mother's fashion choices. "She’ll really tell me [what she thinks]. Like today I’m wearing brown suede pants, and she said, 'I don’t like your pants.' But then she’ll say, 'You’ve got to wear these shoes.' Or 'That's so pretty, mom. Wear that.' She's got a great eye."

The actress -- who is playing fashionista and former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the new History Channel mini-series "The Kennedys" -- has become a designer herself. She has launched her second mother-daughter collection under her own label Holmes & Yang. She says of the new designs, "There’s a lot of long dresses, a cute little knife-pleat skirt, and we did a little bit of a print with tiny flowers."
