Cojo Hits up the Met Costume Fashion Gala in NYC

By

Our resident red carpet expert Cojo was front and center Monday night, as the stars of stage, screen and runway stepped out to honor late designer Alexander McQueen at the Met Costume Gala in New York City. The annual event is a veritable who's who of celebrities and fashion designers, and this year did not disappoint.

Sarah Burton, who is just days fresh from the worldwide fame she's gathered from designing Kate Middleton's fairytale wedding dress, walked the carpet in a long, white Grecian-style gown. Burton is creative director of the Alexander McQueen label, and a few of her designs appeared in the night's featured exhibition, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who was a close friend of the late designer, wore an McQueen gown that night in his honor. She says she thought the night would be bittersweet, "but because of what Sarah [Burton] did 96 hours ago in London...all will be okay in the house of McQueen," adding that she's "thrilled that people are here to celebrate."

Madonna, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Kanye West, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow and Fergie are just a few more of the many glamorous names to grace the carpet.
