Hot on the heels of another Hollywood starlet drastically changing her look, Rooney Mara debuted a striking new hairstyle in New York City on Tuesday.

A far cry from the short, spiky punk style she sported for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the severe black updo she wore throughout awards season, Rooney's new coiffure is past her shoulders and slowly changes color from a dark red at the roots, to blonde at the ends.

Haircolor wasn't the only departure from her usual style -- the usually high-glamour star wore little makeup Tuesday and donned a nondescript trenchcoat when she was photographed on the set of her new movie, The Bitter Pill.
