January 22, 2013
The fashion-loving world flew into a tizzy last night when Michelle Obama stepped out at the Inaugural Ball in this red hot Jason Wu design. "#Inshock!!!" the designer Tweeted moments later, underscoring just how big a secret her selected style had been.

WWD caught up with a much more verbal Wu to talk about the much-discussed design. Mrs. Obama "surprised me again," he told the mag. "She's really good at it ... I was so nervous. You'd think I wouldn't be since I'd experienced it before but I really was."

The FLOTUS previously wore a white one-shouldered Wu design to 2008's Inaugural Ball. "I can't believe it. It's crazy," Wu told The New York Times Monday night. "To have done it once was already the experience of my life. To have a second time is tremendous."

Of the second style, Wu said, "After four years in office, I thought the country was ready to see a confident First Lady in red." And with almost 1,000 likes on ET's Facebook page, it appears Wu was right. Again.
