Victoria Beckham gets candid about both her work and family life in a new interview with T, the New York Times Style Magazine, revealing the surprising dynamics between her and her superstar husband David Beckham.

"David does the cooking," Victoria admits, also revealing that David actually attended culinary school while he was playing soccer in Italy!

"Yes, he's really good," she dishes about his cooking skills.

Victoria also explains the family's more down-to-earth sensibilities despite their ultra-glamorous life -- one very important priority of Victoria's is to make sure that her four children -- Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper -- are grounded and unspoiled.

"We have what I consider to be normal birthday parties," she explains. "I've been to parties in L.A. that are mind-blowing. I mean, quite literally mind-blowing. People get cell phones in the party bag, that sort of thing. Fabulous, fabulous parties. Ours aren’t like that. They are normal kids' parties. We'll have a bouncy castle, a face painter."

In keeping with her "real" persona, she has no problems looking her age, despite the heavy pressures of the entertainment industry.

"I don't want to be made to look like I’m 25," she says. "I'm 39. I don't have any issues with my age."

In fact, she finds obvious retouching in photo shoots "embarrassing."

"Normally in a fashion shoot you'd be plastered in makeup, in amazing clothes," she explains. "I find it embarrassing when you don't look like yourself, when you've had tons of retouching."

But Victoria does admit to having huge aspirations when it comes to her super-successful fashion line, which has quickly become both a celeb favorite and a brand actually respected in the fashion industry.

"I want to reach as many women throughout the world as I can," she says about her career aspirations. "There are more categories that I want to enter into. I have five categories at the moment. But at some point I would love to do shoes, I would love to do fragrance, I would love to do makeup, I would like to do underwear. There are so many things I want to do. .... I want to get bigger and bigger. I absolutely want an empire."

But despite her obviously ambitious, perfectionist personality personified by her notoriously frosty demeanor in photos, Victoria does have a great sense of humor.

When famed fashion photographer Juergen Teller suggests adding a plate of grapes to their photo shoot, she jokes, "We don't want anyone to know I eat. Why ruin that?"

According to Victoria, she also has a very good reason for her constant severe expression in photos.

"I smile in family pictures ... When you're in a position to be paparazzi-ed just walking down the street, you’d look a little daft if you were smiling all the time."
