Fashion Icon Michael Kors Honored by FIT

Fashion icon Michael Kors was honored Wednesday at the Fashion Institute of Technology's Couture Council's annual benefit luncheon, with the Award for Artistry of Fashion.

The hall at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York was packed with fashion industry heavy-hitters, and Kors was introduced by Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank, who has been a longtime friend of Kors, and often wears dresses designed by him at awards shows.

Kors took the stage to a loud cacophony of warm applause, and discussed the path his life has taken him on, since his early days working in fashion, through his time at FIT, and now.

"When people say to me, 'What is it like to be where you are? When did you know you made it?' You know what? I've always believed that the minute that you think that you made it, guess what, you're done," Kors said to an attentive audience. "Well guess what! I'm not done!"
