'People' Names Kerry 2013's Best Dressed Woman

The beautiful Kerry Washington, 36, has just been named People's Best Dressed Woman of 2013.

The title comes as no surprise, as Washington's stunning style has unanimously dazzled fashion critics around the world. From her unforgettable Django Unchained press tour, to her constant presence on Best Dressed lists during awards season, the Scandal star has definitely got her red carpet look down.

"For me the goal is to feel comfortable, event-appropriate and to be an elevated, more special version of myself or to feel like the best version of myself in that context and just be in the moment," she tells People about how she chooses what to wear to such high-profile events.

She also gives credit to her stylist of two years, Erin Walsh.

"Erin and I really work hand in hand," Washington explains. "We're always sending each other ideas and pictures."

The well-deserved title is just the icing on the cake for Washington, who's had an amazing year -- she's nominated for an Emmy for her Scandal role as Olivia Pope, and was also secretly married to San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha in June.
