Rihanna has officially been designated a fashion icon!
The superstar singer, 26, will receive The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc.'s prestigious CFDA Fashion Icon Award this year, which is given to one whose style has made a tremendous impact on pop culture around the world.

Currently the face of Balmain's spring 2014 campaign, it's no secret that Rihanna is a fashion force. As much known for her daring street style as her memorable red carpet looks, Rihanna's also clearly been accepted into the high-fashion world -- Karl Lagerfeld reportedly even flew her to Paris and Dallas to sit front-row at two of Chanel's recent fashion shows.
And she'll be in legendary company -- past recipients of the award include Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman.
