The Met Gala -- fashion's biggest single event of the year -- happened on Monday and ET sent fashion photographer and TV personality Nigel Barker to the red carpet to catch all the action and to provide a post-event wrap-up on the night's big winners!
During a limo ride after the gala, Nigel enlisted the help of Vogue fashion editor Selby Drummond to chat about the best single fashion showcases as well as the top couples to walk the red carpet at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Both agreed that it turned out to be a big couples night, with Beyonce and Jay Z dazzling the crowd in classic black and white wear from French design house Givenchy. "She was so elegant, it was black, it looked very comfortable, but very glamorous," Selby said of Beyonce's stunning gown.
The two also felt it was a fashion victory for engaged couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. "I really loved Kim, I thought she looked fabulous, in Lanvin, and so did Kanye, they looked great together - very elegant and refined."
"I don't think we can talk about the night without talking about Sarah Jessica Parker," Selby said. "She was in Oscar (Oscar de la Renta) -- there were a lot of beautiful women in Oscar -- but that was really his big dress."
Academy Award winner and fashion darling Lupita Nyong'o was also praised by both Nigel and Selby for taking a bold, unconventional choice by Prada and still managing to pull off a "stunning" look. "Lupita was another favorite, I absolutely adored the green Prada look."
