Looks like Instagram has some explaining to do.

Samm Newman, a 19-year-old student at Ohio University-Chillicothe, recently had her Instagram deleted, and believes it's because she posted selfies of her fuller figure in her bra and underwear.

A look at the photos in question show that Newman's outfit is no more revealing than a bathing suit, and since Instagram allows other much more revealing photos of both women and men to exist on the site, plenty of people are questioning the popular photo-sharing site's motives.

"Fat is not a bad word," Newman tells NBC4. "How confident can you be if you keep censoring yourself because people don't want to look at you? ... My Instagram, it was my safe place because when I was there, I could share anything."

After the NBC4 story quickly began getting attention, Instagram reinstated her account and apologized "for any inconvenience."

"When our team processes reports from other members of the Instagram community, we occasionally make a mistake. In this case, we wrongly removed content and worked to rectify the error as soon as we were notified. We apologize for any inconvenience," the company said in a statement to NBC4.
