The film, which was one of the last completed films by acclaimed actor Philip Seymour Hoffman before his passing, is a British espionage thriller based on a book by Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy author John le Carre. In the film, McAdams plays Annabel Richter, a young human rights lawyer who gets in over her head in a complex and dangerous anti-terrorism plot. The film comes out July 25, 2014.
