Ellen Page covers one of five different W magazine covers for their October issue featuring 12 standout women from the worlds of society, fashion and show business (divided into new and classic royalty) in which she reveals how she got her start in acting when she was just 10 years old.

Ellen, now 27, says that once she auditioned for a TV movie and won the role, acting became an "immediate fixation."

"A casting director came to my school looking for kids. I auditioned for a TV movie called Pit Pony, and I got it. Acting became an immediate fixation," she tells writer Lynn Hirschberg. "I was a child, but I was so ambitious."

But it's her role in the controversial Hard Candy, in which she plays a 14-year-old who tortures a pedophile (Patrick Wilson), that had her strangely realizing just how much she loves her job.

"At 17, I costarred in Hard Candy, about a pedophile and his victim, whom I played. My character had to castrate the pedophile. I've always loved learning things for a part, and I remember researching castration and thinking, 'This is so interesting,'" she says. "I'm a nerd that way: I love the challenges of this job."

The Juno actress is also raising eyebrows for this sexy inside shot for the magazine, in which she poses in nothing but a black Paule Ka cape, a hidden Dolce & Gabbana bra and black Calvin Klein underwear briefs.
