Fashion savvy celebrities are stepping out in transitional wardrobe pieces that will seamlessly take you from summer to autumn.
A star favorite is the long sleeve mini dress. It is great for cocktail parties or date night, and it’s a polished look that transcends seasons with its modesty. Jada Pinkett Smith strutted in a black Blumarine Fall 2014 at an event to promote her new show Gotham on Fox. Her long sleeve mini dress had a deep v-neckline with gold detailing. Jennifer Lopez really showed off her legs at an American Idol photocall in a blue python Dsquared² Fall 2014 micro-dress. Jennifer Hudson, Joan Smalls, and Taylor Schilling have also been donning the leggy look proving that conservative looks can be edgy.
Long flowy dresses and skirts are getting a lot of love from stars like Adriana Lima, Keira Knightley, Oliva Palmero, and mommy-to-be Kristen Bell. Designers are revamping the carefree look with asymmetrical layers and pleats. Adriana Lima looked lovely in a Gabriela Cadena orchid-print pleated silk-chiffon skirt at Russell James’ “Angel” book launch. Kristen Bell wore a floral print Elizabeth and James asymmetrical layered dress to the This is Where I Leave You LA premiere. This was a flattering look for the pregnant star and it shows the versatility of the trend.
Eddie Redmayne modernized the double-breasted suit during the Toronto Film Festival by opting for a teal Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014 suit paired with a navy tie and matching pocket square. Dan Stevens also took up the trend at The Guest New York premiere in his grey Thom Sweeney ensemble. There are a variety of ways for men to wear this look including wearing a double-breasted blazers as a separate styled with a relaxed pair of trousers. The key to pulling it off is to make sure the jacket is tailored at the waist and the length should be shorter that a standard suit.
