Gwyneth Paltrow Attempts to Channel Marilyn Monroe

Max Factor

Worst Marilyn Monroe ever?

Does Gwyneth Paltrow have what it takes to embody the legendary Marilyn Monroe?

In this new Max Factor video, Gwyneth transforms into the sexy icon in order to represent the "Femme Fatale 40's," right down to the tousled short blonde hair and the retro peddle-pushers and cropped cardigan combo.

"It's fun to dress up for work," she says about her eyebrow-raising transformation. "You know, it's always nice to be in New York, in a little convertible Mercedes, and it's good."

Gwyneth also rocks dramatic lashes and a bright statement lip a la Marilyn.

"I think I like the lipstick the best," she says. "I think it's my favorite of the look."

But Marilyn is not the only beauty icon Gwyneth has transformed into as the face of Max Factor. In July, she recreated the famous looks of Madonna (representing the 80s), Audrey Hepburn (the 50s), Brigitte Bardot (the 60s) and Farrah Fawcett (70s).

Though her Marilyn interpretation is clearly the most striking, no?

NEWS: It's On! Martha Stewart Takes an Open Dig at Gwyneth Paltrow

One icon Gwyneth definitely isn't making friends with any time soon is Martha Stewart, with whom she's been engaged in a war of words since September, when Martha slammed the 42-year-old actress during an interview with Porter magazine.

"She just needs to be quiet," Stewart said. "She's a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart."
