ET chatted with stylish actress Ashley Tisdale Wednesday to get the scoop on her exciting new fashion projects, and she also talked about newlywed life with her husband of two months, musician Christopher French!
The two tied the knot on Sept. 8 after dating since Dec. 2012.
Ashley, 29, just announced her participation in charity initiative ShoeDazzle Cares, for which she selected a black ankle bootie to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The faux leather and suede bootie comes with stylish straps, and according to the High School Musical star, is perfect for the fall season.
"I'm such a boots person," Ashley reveals about how she personally chose the particular style. "I love how it has multiple straps, and since it's all-black, it goes with everything. It's easy to pair with anything like an oversized sweater and leather leggings."
Ashley also shares the particular significance of the St. Jude charity, given that her grandmother and aunt both passed away from cancer.
"It's a tribute to my grandmother's passing," she says. "And when I chose the charity, they said they would love for me to actually spend some time at the charity before I give them any money, which I thought was really admirable."
The experience ended up being life-changing.
"To see what they do on a daily basis is an amazing thing," she says. "They pay for everything from housing and food, and everything is so that the child will get better. When I visited, I was like, 'I'll do whatever it takes.' It was so heart-breaking."
Ashley especially bonded with an 8-year-old patient named Bailey, and she shares that she'll actually be auctioning a pair of shoes that Bailey designed for charity.
As for more fashionable endeavors for Ashley, she tells ET that there will definitely be more fashion related projects in her future, though she was tight-lipped on the details.
"It's really been on my mind for a while," she says about future projects. "I have some really exciting ideas and things coming up."
Though as for now, she stresses that there's one shoe trend she definitely won't be trying.
"I can't do Birkenstocks!" she laughs. "I have some Sam Edelman sandals with straps and my girlfriend was like, 'Oh they look like Birkenstocks,' and I'm like, 'NO, NO NO!'"
