The hottest trend to get you into 2015 is Pantone’s color of the year, marsala. Last year radiant orchid, which is comprised of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, dominated the fashion scene but now marsala is taking over. It’s a deep, reddish amber that richens everything from wardrobe pieces and beauty products, to accessories.

Fashion trendsetters like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and more have been hitting the red carpets and showing us why marsala is worthy of being Pantone’s “it” color. Beyoncé stunned in the sultry shade at the Billboard Women In Music Luncheon with a side knot dress that featured an asymmetrical hemline and a thigh high slit. Taylor Swift was seductive in a one-shoulder chiffon Reem Acra dress at Z100’s Jingle Ball. And Anna Kendrick embraced a classic look in a cozy rich velvet long sleeve wrap dress.

Complement neutral tones like black or navy with a marsala toned clutch or heels for an easy and subtle way to work the color into your wardrobe. This deliciously warm shade also pairs nicely with winter white or a mustard hue.

Rihanna indulged in the color at the First Annual Diamond Ball by highlighting her lips with this deep burgundy. Clean and dramatic eye makeup, like the R&B singer’s golden hued shadows and heavy winged eye liner, pair nicely with marsala as a dramatic lip color for an edgier style.
