Actress Emma Stone was barely recognizable as she hit the red carpet at the Met Gala.

The 27-year-old actress donned a Prada gown and clutch, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Christian Louboutin heels to the New York event, but it was her dramatically darker locks and wicked tan that had everyone looking twice!

Replacing her usual wavy red or blonde locks, the Oscar nominee showed off a sleek, asymmetrical, rich brown ‘do. The new shade is likely for her latest gig portraying tennis champ Billie Jean King in Battle of the Sexes, currently filming in Los Angeles.

The film centers on the controversial 1973 match between King and former champ Bobby Riggs - who was challenged to a game by King after boasting he could beat top female players.

Dubbed the "Battle of the Sexes," the resulting match saw King beat Riggs, played by Steve Carrell (who played Stone’s dad in Crazy, Stupid, Love).

In addition to a hair makeover, the actress was also looking noticeably-tanned, her toned skin glowing against her plunging white gown and sexy silver corset.

In addition to Battle of the Sexes, Stone has also completed jazz film La La Land which sees her reuniting with Ryan Gosling, will voice Eep in Croods 2 and has been cast as Cruella de Vil in the Disney flick Cruella. Suffice to say, she’s a busy lady!
