Everyone has been wearing sequins lately, and it's easy to see why! See some of our favorite looks from 2016.

Who doesn't love a little sparkle during the holiday season?

Metallic hues were a huge trend in 2016, and we were especially excited when they were combined with sequins, a pairing that popped up on many red carpets. Not only that, the bold looks are also major inspiration for all of the holiday parties coming up.

Glistening gold gowns were the most popular, and Claire Danes and Rachel McAdams wore two of the biggest showstoppers at the Emmys and Met Gala, respectively.

Disco ball-inspired dresses were also abound, as Allison Williams proved with this fun silver number while hosting the Voices of Solidarity 2016 event in early December.

If funky and comfy is your style, take a cue from Keke Palmer, who looked like a total disco diva at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards in July.

And, yes, we promise there are more than silver and gold hues out there. Bailee Madison put a fresh spin on sequins in this low-cut pink Amato Couture frock. She wore the bold number to the 2016 American Music Awards last month and gave off major mermaid vibes in the process.

It's also very possible to not be done up in couture and still looks fabulous. In fact, one of our favorite looks wasn't a fancy gown at all, but this very wearable rocker tee and striped skirt combo that Constance Zimmer wore to The Hollywood Reporter's Annual Women in Entertainment Breakfast on Wednesday.
